Toe & Toenail Treatments

Foot deformities can get progressively worse over time and will eventually start to affect your day-to-day life. You experience pain when you perform certain activities. You can’t wear your favorite shoes anymore. You find you can no longer walk long distances or stay as active as you’d like to be.

Don’t wait until your deformity reaches this point before seeking treatment! You can save yourself years (or even decades) of discomfort by coming in at the first sign of trouble.

Common Toe & Toenail Conditions

  • Tinea pedis - More commonly know as “Athlete’s Foot”, minor cases can be treated at home, if symptoms continue for more than 2 weeks, it’s time to see a podiatrist. The more proactive you are, the quicker the condition will be resolved and help to stop it spreading throughout your body. She can prescribe much more effective medications that penetrate the skin to attack where the fungus is living and stop its spread.
  • Ingrown Toe Nails - Ingrown toenails are a very common condition our doctors see daily. Ingrowns occur when sides of the nails grow into the skin surrounding the nail, causing pinching and irritation to the skin, and if left untreated, can cause an infection. If you see any redness, have pain, see puss or overgrowth of skin please contact us today.
  • Nail Fungus - If you are experiencing any thickening, discoloration or brittleness to a portion of or all the toenail you likely have toenail fungus. It’s important to get this treated immediately, as the fungus can spread and cause loosening of others toenails and painful blisters under the nail.
